Best NFL Christmas Gifts: Luxury Cars, Snowmobiles & Amazon Stock

While NFL quarterbacks and running backs are widely considered two of the most important positions in professional football, their job wouldn’t be possible without the help of others.

Who am I talking about?

Offensive Lineman, who protect their blind side, open up running lanes, and receive only a fraction of the credit they deserve.

Given their success, and potentially $100 million-plus contracts, NFL quarterbacks and running backs often feel it’s necessary to give back to the unsung heroes that ultimately make their success possible.

Their gift of choice?

Well, it’s complicated…

We’ve seen everything from custom automobiles to personalized shotguns, with star players continuously looking for ways to get creative.

Given the holiday season, today we’ll run through five of my favorite NFL gifts ever.

First up — Tom Brady.

Tom Brady’s Off-The-Field Protection

After the Patriots’ 2007 season — a campaign which ended with a 16-0 regular-season record before losing to the NY Giants in Super Bowl XLII — Tom Brady gifted each of his 5 starting linemen brand new Audi Q7 SUVs.

Valued at more than $50,000 each, the generous gift was worth north of $250,000.

The interesting part?

As an endorsement partner of Brady’s, the gift was “presented by Audi” — meaning it’s unclear how much, if any, Brady paid of the $250,000+ tab.

To be clear — given the Patriots became only the second NFL team in history to finish the regular season undefeated, and Brady took home the MVP award, I’m sure he would have happily fronted the costs himself if necessary.

Adrian Peterson’s Minnesota-Esque Gift

After the 2012 NFL season, which saw Adrian Peterson rush or 2,097 yards, the second-most in NFL history, the Vikings star running back asked his 5 starting offensive linemen to stay back after practice.

Guard Brandon Fusco said:

Why?

Peterson led them to the parking lot, where he had two of his personalized Arctic Cat snowmobiles waiting.

The catch?

Each starting offensive lineman was getting their own.

When asked why snowmobiles, Peterson provided the obvious response:

At a base price of more than $8,000 each, the gift cost Peterson over $40,000 in total.

Trevor Siemian’s Parka Jacket

Staying true to their reputation within sports — think Marshawn Lynch — Skittles teamed up with Denver Broncos QB Trevor Siemian in 2016 to provide his starting offensive lineman with a “unique” gift for Christmas.

Siemian, in conjunction with Skittles, gifted each of his offensive lineman a customized Skittles parka jacket.

The best part?

Each jacket was equipped with a Skittles dispenser.

While the gift was considered more funny than serious, Siemian made out the best — being paid by Skittles for the promotion.

Russell Wilson’s Growing Gift

Here’s a wild stat:

In 2013 — the year Russell Wilson lead the Seattle Seahawks to their first Super Bowl Championship in franchise history — the 3rd round pick out of Wisconsin was only paid $526,217.

His Super Bowl opponent?

Peyton Manning, who made $25,000,000 that year.

But in 2019, when Russell Wilson became the highest-paid player in NFL history — signing a four-year, $140 million deal — he made sure to take care of the teammates that got him there.

Less than a week after signing the record contract, Wilson gave $156,000 worth of Amazon stock to his 13 offensive linemen, or $12,000 each.

Why?

Wilson told them:

Since April 2019, Amazon’s stock is up more than 75% — making the original $12,000 gift worth ~$21,000.

Le’Veon Bell’s Expensive Watches

In 2017, after rushing for an NFL-best 1,200+ yards and earning his third career Pro Bowl invite, Le’Veon Bell gifted the Steelers offensive line Hublot Watches.

The cost?

More than $13,000 each.

In the end, this list could have included many more infamous gifts — including Ezekiel Elliott’s ATVs or Lamar Jackson’s Rolex Watches — but I had to draw the line somewhere.
