It’s good to be back! For those who don’t already know, I got married in July and was fortunate enough to convince my wife that we should delay our honeymoon a few months so we could bookend a Lake Como trip with the Italian Grand Prix and an AC Milan match.

And while I originally intended to write the newsletter last week, I quickly realized upon arriving in Italy that my time was much better spent relaxing and making memories with my wife — I figured you guys would understand!

But it wasn’t all play and no work. We ended up scheduling some time to visit Casa Milan (AC Milan’s headquarters) before the match, and I sat down with their Chief Revenue Officer, Casper Stylsvig, for about an hour.

RedBird Capital, along with the New York Yankees and Main Street Advisors (an investment fund that counts LeBron James and Drake as LPs), recently acquired the club for $1.3 billion. So we discussed everything from how the club makes money today and why the business model within European football is changing to their plans for a new $1 billion stadium and the importance of US expansion.
